If it makes any sense, the shifter actually seems much more solid than the wheel itself does. I have the h-pattern shifter and will only say that it's a very well built, solid piece of kit. Since you already have the T500 I don't really need to go on about it, but simply put, with a few minor nits, it's superior to the G27 in just about every way and makes the G27 seem like a toy in comparison. Although since I've had the T500 (for about 18 months), the G27 has been sitting in the box and that about sums up the difference between the two quite neatly. I have both a G27 and a Thrustmaster T500Rs and have used both extensively. I'm sorry that I only saw this thread today. I'm still thinking about buying the separate shifter as well. I finally got the Thrustmaster, and it blew me away!! I can really recommend it, although it's so powerfull i can't play it on max However at this stage I'm more than happy with the purchase and I'd buy it again given if I was looking for a new wheel. I can't comment on the reliability or support at the moment as I've only had it a month and I haven't had any issues. Not really something I'm interested in as I'm happy just using the pedals, but some people like the realism of a separate shifter. Fanatec are also about to release separate shifters that will hook to the base. You can connect the wheel base to G27 pedals which is how I have it setup or you can use Fanatec ones. They use quick releases like real race car wheels to take them on and off the base.
There is a touring car wheel available as del as the formula one I have. The wheel base allows you to swap out different wheels. Has more programmable buttons than a G27 and there is a third party program called Fanaleds that allows you to setup the LCD on the wheel to show various parameters whilst you are driving in a number of sims. The FFB from the Clubsport is much much smoother than the G27. I basically just wanted to try the game with default setting for the most part.I've had a Fanatec Clubsport base and Formula rim for a month or so now. next I'll try to get rid of some of the assists that are on by default. The Texas race was much better with the hard difficulty. I only tried it to get a feel for game and figured that wouldn't let the AI from running ramming me.
#Nascar the game 2013 logitech g27 Pc
I qualified 3 seconds faster than 2nd place at Daytona and that was with me being all over the track as I'm not used to racing games on PC with a controller. So I'd go with Hard and forget about the difficulty for a while until you start really setup tinkering. Legend is good for when you really want to dial your own setups in and work on being as fast as possible. Hard is good for races where you use the default setups with assists off. It's a fun way to play from the back and work on race lines and anticipating traffic, nothing more. Medium is good for short 5% races where I don't qualify and instead plow through the field.
#Nascar the game 2013 logitech g27 update
It was there in qualifying, but no engine sound in the race, spotter was still there though.įWIW, the Texas race was after the update was just applied.ĭon't even bother with medium AI, bro. Also never had any engine sound during the Texas race.
the game did stop recognizing the controller when I was messing around in the setups though. didn't have any real issues with it during racing. I need to hook up the wheel and see how it feels, but the controller seem alright. They don't seem to "ride on rails" and they know when you have a run on them on the outside and will let you go sometimes on the straights. The AI in the Texas race seemed pretty good for a racing AI. I never played this game on console, so I can't compare it to that. I managed to fight back to finish 26th in a 16 lap race about 10 seconds behind the leader. Qualified 36th, fell back to 39th at the start due to having to check up behind Casey Mears. I can't even talk about drafting as I just pulled away.Ģnd race was at Texas on Hard difficulty. first race was just a 8 lap race at Daytona on medium difficulty. I've raced 2 short races with a 360 controller(didn't feel like hooking my steering wheel right now) so far.
